In a sense, the Theosophical Society began to shape the ideals of Theosophy into a dogma. However, it is crutcial to remember the importance of words in today's world. We try to communicate everything through words, and this becomes a problem when we try to verbalize something which is beyond explaination. Some things cannot be explained through words- they must be experienced. This posses a great problem to Theosophy (and religion in general.) The original teachings of H.P. Blavatsky stressed the importance of experiencing. Although she tried to explain as much as she could, she was wise enough to know that everything she was trying to teach could not be translated. Much of spiritualism, meditation, karma and other ideas are full body experiences which are probably never fully understood.
